When it comes to natural beauty western Canada has it all from the rugged and majestic Rocky Mountains to the wide-open prairies, pristine lakes and glacier-fed rivers. From amidst this spectacular landscape country artist Lee Dinwoodie lives and creates his special brand of music. His inspiration stems from a deep kind of musical energy that comes from a solid foundation of family and tradition.

Lee was born in the small prairie town of Lavoy, Alberta. The youngest of six children, he spent his early years growing up on the family farm that had been passed down through the generations. He saw his Dad work the land with a passion and love that Lee inherited and carries through to his music. Like his Dad, Lee possesses that solid work ethic and love for what you do. The hard life of making a living from the land gives people a special spark and Lee is no exception.

Lee's first musical influence was growing up listening to his mother sing and play piano. Her music was gospel that filled their home with joy. She touched people deeply with her voice and sense of spirit. Lee started singing around the house with his mother and learned the meaning of feeling in music. He soon realized his own love and gift of music. His mother bought him a guitar at age 15. Immediately he began writing songs and became inspired by artists such as Kenny Rogers, Wilf Carter and Johnny Cash. At the same time he began developing his own voice and style. It became apparent that his love I of country music was huge and his heart was in it.
While performing at a talent contest he attracted the attention of a country group that needed a singer. At that point he began performing weekend gigs playing and singing covers and some originals. Lee began to follow the business side of country music and found himself at BC Country Music Week where he had the opportunity to showcase his talent. His soulful voice captivated the crowd. It also got the attention of one of Canada's most well-known producers - Roy Warhurst. This led to Lee's first cd "Personally" being produced by Roy. Lee wrote 8 of the IO songs on the cd.

"Personally" did very well in Canada. Through a coop production with the "B.C. Music Project" four videos were produced and received national airplay. He appeared on the nationally broadcast "Capital Country", "Inside Trax" and saw his videos generate national airplay on Much Music's "Outlaws And Heroes". His talent was soon
recognized by the producers of CBC-TV's "The Tommy Hunter Show and Lee was invited to appear nationally with Patti Loveless, Kitty Wells, Hank Snow, Joel Sonnier and Gary Fjellgarde. After the press and radio attention Lee was very much in demand in the live circuit headlining many festivals, rodeos, fairs and cattlemen events.
As the seeds of desire to create music and develop his own style and career grew, Lee took trips to Nashville and recorded numerous songs while becoming increasingly well- known in the Nashville scene with features on TNN on several occasions

One day in the early 90's Lee was at a music conference in Vancouver, B.C., promoting his product and participating in songwriting sessions when fate intervened. He met Dean Dillon, hit songwriter for George Strait. Dean took an interest in Lee's style and voice

and a musical chemistry was ignited, along with an enduring friendship. Dean produced a session in Nashville with Lee in the mid-90's, the result being a collaborative effort that led to major label interest and helped elevate Lee into a select category of artist.
Lee continued to perform the live circuit and build his fan base. He sought to find songs of hit stature, waiting without compromise for the best material that would live up to his high standards. That came from Dean Dillon last year. Lee then proceeded to produce a recording session in Calgary that lived up to the potential of the songs. He chose the - finest in Canadian musical talent and recorded the album live off the floor with seven musicians. Finally he was able to capture the dynamic live feel and sound he'd always desired. Once the album was completed he knew he had genuine and authentic quality!

Lee's big dream has always been to put out a record that is world class..His patience in waiting for the right material and his maturity as an artist have converged in the present with "Rewind" - an album that has all the elements to make Lee Dinwoodie's dream come true. It's as if the songs, the voice and the timing were all meant to be. When the beauty of the music takes you to another place it's a very powerful thing. "Rewind" is an album whose time has come.
